This book was fantastic. My main reason for picking this one was the dragon on the cover (I’m a sucker for dragons – blame Anne McCaffrey) and while there weren’t quite as many awesome dragons as I had hoped, there were still some pretty interesting ideas surrounding the dragons that were here. For example, they hatch from rock eggs, but only while surrounded by special plants that become their nests. Most dragons I know of hatch through fire, not plant-life.

I’ve already started on the next book in the series and I’m hopeful that it will be just as fun and interesting as this one was!

Upon his mother’s death, fifteen-year-old Beck Phillips is sent to live with an eccentric uncle he had never met in a remote manor house, where he learns that his family suffers from a curse that allows him to make plants grow on command and dragon eggs hatch.
