My Family

My family is a big pain in my butt.  That doesn’t mean that I don’t love them all at least a little, though!

This picture is a few months old, but I think it’s the most recent “family picture” that we have.  It’s from the 2008 Chidester Christmas Pull-name party that was held at our house.  Anyways, let’s learn a little bit about each member of my family, we’ll start with the oldest and then work our way down.  I’m going to skip me since this entire website should pretty much tell you everything you need to know about me!

Dad

My dad is the oldest of three boys.  He’s an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2657 and he plays basketball really early in the morning with a bunch of guys a few times a week.  Dad recently took a new job that I know almost nothing about, but he has always been very dedicated to his work.  He tends to put a little too much emphasis on appearance rather than behavior and acts, and he’s very stubborn.  My dad and I don’t get along most of the time because of that.  However, he’s my dad, and (as my best friend Jaime has said lots of times) he did a pretty good job of raising me, and I do love him.

Mom

My mom is one of six children – three older brothers, one older sister, and one younger brother.  She runs an in-home daycare and keeps several children.  I probably get my love of children from her.  My mom has a bad habit of going on and on and on with a story that we’ve all heard hundreds of times.  When I was younger, it drove me insane, now it’s mostly just funny.  My mom is a pretty great mom and, because of her in-home daycare, she was always home for us kids which kept us out of a good bit of trouble.  :-D

Karen

Joseph

Joseph is probably my most annoying sibling, but when he’s not being annoying, he’s relatively cool.  He’s big into 4-H, Shooting Sports, and band.  He plays trumpet and he’s pretty good even though he gives me a headache when he plays.  He can also be really funny when he’s not beating the hell out of me!  I swear, over half of the bruises on my arms are from him!  Joseph is finally really getting into reading, which I’m proud of, so I let him borrow some of my books, but I always worry that he’ll damage them.  My books are my babies!

Jackson

Jackson is the baby of the family and as such he is spoiled rotten.  It shows, and it’s not a good thing.  However, when he’s behaving, he’s a sweetheart and a very polite little gentleman.  He has a “tree-house” in the back yard that he’s trying to turn in the the USS Kidd, which is pretty cool.  He also loves taking things apart and trying to put them back together to make something new.  I had an old DVR that wasn’t fixable; he and I took it apart and had some fun.  He salvaged the pieces he wanted and trashed the rest.  Whenever I next feel like play with power tools, I’m going to let him help me take apart the hard drive that was in it.  :-D

Well, that’s it about my family for now.  I’ll probably add more to this and maybe even split it up into separate pages for each of them when I add enough stuff, but for now this is good.
