The Simple Woman's Daybook
Outside my window… is a world that spins while I hide away in my library. There are biting bugs, smelly people, and loud cars.
I am thinking… that I’m insanely lucky to have a library all to myself (and my kitties) to read, play, and enjoy my time.
I am thankful… for my husband. He puts up with me, loves me, and lets me have my own time in my library with minimal interference. ^_^
In the kitchen… are a few dirty dishes from the dinner I “cooked” and the deer sausage that Jaime made for himself because the Chicken Fried Rice apparently wasn’t filling enough.
I am wearing… a purple t-shirt. I don’t like clothes, so I already took my pants off. o_O
I am creating… a few new habits, I hope. Mainly, posting more often and with more book reviews!
I am going… to climb into the tub when I’m finished with this post. ^_^ I love baths! Especially with my nook. :-D
I am wondering… what it would take to get my life fully organized and on a somewhat decent schedule…
I am reading… the Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey. I’m currently on “Nerilka’s Story” – the 8th published book.
I am hoping… that one day I’ll be able to get some better shelves for my book-babies.
I am looking forward to… work tomorrow. Weird, I know, but I go in super early at 6a, I get off at 1p, and then I get to hang out with my niece and sister. I think they’re doing nails?
I am learning… that sooner or later, if I make a plan and stick to it, I’ll be able to pay off all my bills!
Around the house… my kitty-babies are dirtying up the clean floors by shedding. I’m sorry, Jaime, I told you we needed to give them haircuts and baths!
I am pondering… the meaning of my own life, my desire for children, and my enjoyment with my life while Jaime and I are kid-free.
A favorite quote for today…
“Step by step
Moment by moment
We live through
― Anne McCaffrey, “Dragon Harper”
One of my favorite things… reading every second I can!
A few plans for the rest of the week…
- write a few book reviews
- spend some time with my niece
- cook at least once, even if it’s only Hamburger Helper
reminder: take ground meat out of the freezer
- finish transferring my music library from iTunes to Songbird 1.9.3
Thanks OldApps.com for the installation file!
- watch more Star Trek episodes
- read another chapter of “Sky the Unwanted Kitten” with Anna
A peek into my day… Leeroy often spends most of his time extremely close to me when I’m home. I like to joke that he has a two-foot rule; I’m not allowed more than two feet from him at any given time. It’s really sweet, but I especially love when he decides to get cuddly… This picture was taken after he had been sleeping on my shoulder for a little less than an hour. He was still there 25 minutes later when Jaime came in and started messing with him. About five minutes after Jaime left, Leeroy hopped down and went to sleep on his chair – conveniently located on the side of my desk less than two feet from his mommy. :-)
